Notre Dame football: Early 7-round All-Irish 2022 NFL Mock Draft

Round 6 Pick No. 179: Kevin Austin Jr., Detroit Lions

Looking at the prospects entering the 2022 NFL Draft from the Notre Dame football program, I like two more to come off the board in the later rounds. In the sixth round, the Detroit Lions could take a shot at Kevin Austin Jr., as they are a franchise who seems to like bringing in Notre Dame players either by the draft or as undrafted free agents.

Austin was the WR1 for the Irish in 2021 and is invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, so he will be able to stake his claim as a draft pick in Indy.

Round 7, Pick No. 225: Jack Coan, Las Vegas Raiders

The final member of the Irish 2021 team that I see going in this early mock is quarterback Jack Coan, who solidified his draft status at the East-West Shrine Bowl. Coan was on fire early on, leading the team to two very long drives, and capping his final drive off with a touchdown pass.

The Raiders are a team that could be in play for a Day 3 quarterback, as they have a legitimate franchise guy in Derek Carr at the helm, but very little after him assuming Marcus Mariota hits free agency. Coan is a veteran talent who could help this quarterback room, and based on his work in 2021, and the East-West Shrine Bowl, I believe he will be a Day 3 pick.
