The Notre Dame basketball team is one of the hottest teams in the country, and they are built for success come tournament time.

The Notre Dame basketball team has lost only three of their last 17 games, and are fresh off a dominating performance on the road against Clemson. They are finding ways to win, whether it is getting out to an early lead, or trying to hang on late, and it is clear that there is something special going on with this group.

Here, we look at three reasons why the Irish are built for March Madness.

Notre Dame basketball: 3 reasons MBB could make a deep run this March

No. 1: Irish have multiple scoring threats

Throughout this 2021-22 season, we have seen different players lead the Irish in scoring on many different occasions. While some rosters are built around one or two scorers, the Irish can have any one of their five starters score at any time, and there are at least four players who could average 20 points per game if they were the only real option on this offense.

Sure, Blake Wesley gets a lot of the love from the national media, but Dane Goodwin leads this team in scoring, and both players went for over 20 points the last time out. Trey Wertz can come off the bench and fill it up, and both Paul Atkinson and Nate Laszewski are big men who have had their share of 15-plus point games this season.
