No. 3: Defense and hustle

When it comes time for the tournament, defense and hustle will go a long way, and this Irish lineup is built with plenty of guys who flat-out get after it. Prentiss Hubb is the point guard, and his play is the definition of what a Notre Dame basketball player should look like, as he goes 100 percent all game long.

His leadership has rubbed off on the rest of the team, and to watch Notre Dame basketball play is to see 40 minutes of consistent hustle. A veteran group like this is going to find ways to win games late, especially against some of the younger rosters come tournament time, and a lot of that comes from them never taking their foot off the gas.

Overall, this is exactly the kind of team that can make a serious run in the NCAA Tournament, and their head coach has experience in those big situations. Notre Dame basketball has been on a tear over their last 17 games, and I do not see why the good times have to stop once it comes time for the tournament.
