Logan Diggs, Running Back

For the past two seasons, Kyren Williams has not only established himself as the feature back for the Irish but also one of the premier running backs in the country. In fact, Williams is considered a top running back prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft and has played his way into being a Day 2 pick this April.

With Williams gone, the Irish will have to now figure out a way to replace his production, which just happened to be back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2020 and 2021. Williams was also an elite blocker and pass-catcher out of the backfield, so the Irish are replacing the total package at the position group.

His backup in 2021, true freshman Logan Diggs, showed flashes that he can step into this role this season, as he is a do-everything back in his own right. We got to see his athleticism when he hurdled a Virginia defender last season, and though the shoes being filled are big, you have to love what this kid brings to the table every game.
