Michael Mayer, Tight End

When speaking of the Notre Dame offense in 2022, the whole thing revolves around their elite tight end, a possible top-5 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Michael Mayer has been a star since stepping foot on campus in South Bend and is fresh off another dominant season within Tommy Rees’s offense.

In 2022, you can expect him to not only be a leader for this offense but also break some records, as he is on the doorstep of crushing every tight end record in program history. He can block, go over the middle, or burn both defensive backs and linebackers, making him an unguardable player at the collegiate level.

This is an offense that has the potential to do some special things this upcoming season, and it will be interesting to see how Tommy Rees deploys so many weapons. The offensive line is going to be a strength, and if they play the way they did down the stretch in 2021, this has the chance to be one of the best offenses in the country.
