The Notre Dame basketball team looks to continue their winning ways this afternoon against Wake Forest, and they will do so on the road.

In a huge ACC matchup this afternoon, the Notre Dame basketball team will head to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Demon Deacons have lost their last two games, but only by a combined six points, and those games were against tough opponents in Miami (FL) and the Duke Blue Devils.

On the other hand, the Irish have been red-hot as of late, beating anyone who has come into their path, as they have won all but three of their last 19 games. That streak came once true freshman Blake Wesley was placed into the starting lineup against No. 10 Kentucky, and his addition to the Starting 5 has worked wonders for the first-place Irish.

Today, it will be another huge ACC test.

This is going to be an exciting game today, as Wake Forest is a team playing great basketball right now, and has a few matchup problems for the Irish. Jake LaRavia is a tough inside presence, as the forward is current No. 2 on the team in scoring, as he is one of three members of this Demon Deacons team that is averaging double-figures this season.

Star guard Alondes Williams leads Wake Forest in both scoring and rebounding, and actually leads the conference in scoring and assists, so he is going to be a tough matchup today for Notre Dame. The Demon Deacons have secured the program’s first 20-win season in over a decade, and will be looking to improve on their 13-2 home record this afternoon.

For the Irish, they need to continue doing what they always do, and that is spread the basketball around, and find their shooters for open looks. If they can do that, their depth at guard should be able to at least neutralize Williams, leading to a victory on the road.
