Notre Dame football: Best fits for Kyren Williams in the 2022 NFL Draft

Arizona Cardinals

One of the better teams for most of the 2021 NFL season was the Arizona Cardinals, who played their way into a playoff berth. Led by a dynamic quarterback in Kyler Murray, and an offensive genius in head coach Kliff Kingsbury, the Cardinals offense was outstanding at times in 2021, but they did falter down the stretch.

Looking at the rest of the roster, the Cardinals certainly need help at the running back spot, and Williams has been mocked as a potential draft target for them a lot recently. In Pro Football Network’s latest mock, he lands in Arizona with the No. 87 overall pick in the third round, and I believe he would flourish in that offense.

James Conner led the way on the ground for the Cardinals last season but is a free agent now, and Chase Edmonds has yet to prove he can shoulder the load at the NFL level. Williams would come in and be the feature back in Arizona on Day 1, and based on his ability to catch the football, Kingsbury would love working with a multi-faceted talent like him.
