Notre Dame football: 2022 NFL Scouting Combine primer
Jack Coan
Needing someone to come in and step up in a big way after Ian Book left for the NFL, the Notre Dame football team found their man in Jack Coan. The graduate transfer from Wisconsin struggled early on, as did the rest of the Irish offense, as the program was looking for the right combination up front along the offensive line.
Once they got the line straightened out, Coan emerged as one of the more consistent signal-callers in college football, leading the team to a seven-game win streak to close the regular season. There is so much to like about him in terms of the NFL game, and when it comes to the interview process, I feel teams are to be blown away by him.
Quarterback play in the NFL is actually pretty weak right now outside of the elite, as teams continue to give the same free agents chance after chance to backup. Based on his arm, football IQ, and his ability to win everywhere he has been, Coan is going to be a surprise for a lot of NFL teams this week, and I believe he earns a spot on Day 3 over the next few days.
