Notre Dame football: 3 reasons Jack Coan will be selected in the 2022 NFL Draft

Arm talent

There are knocks on Jack Coan’s game, and that is why he is not considered a top quarterback in this draft class, and someone who is going to be available on Day 3. However, we saw Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book get drafted higher than expected last year, so do not rule out how the NFL teams view Irish signal-callers.

Coan is not a mobile quarterback, something that appears to be a must in today’s NFL, but looking at the two quarterbacks who made the Super Bowl, footspeed is not one of their defining characteristics. While Coan may not be a speedy guy, he has tremendous arm talent, something that will be on display this week in Indianapolis.

I can certainly see Coan going into Indy and putting on a passing display, as he not only has a strong arm, but he is extremely accurate. Coan is also smart with the football, as seen by his 48-to-15 touchdown-to-interception ratio in college, so him being able to throw at the next level is not going to be an issue.
