The Notre Dame football team will kick off spring practices on March 17, and here is our first projection at the two-deep depth chart on offense.

With spring practice for the 2022 Notre Dame football team scheduled to kick off on March 17, it is time to dive into what the depth chart could look like when the team takes on Ohio State in Week 1. Head coach Marcus Freeman has a talented group on the offensive side of the ball, but it is also a unit that has major question marks heading into the spring.

Here, we go two-deep at each position group.

Quarterback

  1. Tyler Buchner
  2. Drew Pyne

Going into spring practices, the Notre Dame football team is strong atop the depth chart at the quarterback position. After being worked into the offense at times last season, Tyler Buchner should go into the spring as the QB1 for the Irish, though there is some tough competition behind him.

Drew Pyne was asked to step in multiple times last season, and he led the team to their victory over Wisconsin inside Soldier Field. He is a strong-armed quarterback who would start for another program if he were to transfer out of Notre Dame, but for now, his goal is to supplant Buchner as the starter in South Bend.
