Tight End

  1. Michael Mayer
  2. Kevin Bauman

When it comes to the tight end position, you have to think that the Notre Dame football team has the best of the best in 2022. Michael Mayer was inexplicably not a finalist for the John Mackey Award last season, and that was a travesty, as he is widely regarded as not only the best at his position group but a possible top-10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Mayer leads a position group that is loaded with talent entering the spring practices, and his main backup, Kevin Bauman, is an incredible athlete who is going to turn some heads this season. Notre Dame football has a reputation of producing elite tight ends, and the combination of Mayer and Bauman should dominate defenses in 2022.

Notre Dame has a bunch of talent at the tight end spot even beyond Mayer and Bauman, but these two will be expected to carry the load this season. Players like Mitchell Evans and Cane Berrong will be joined by two exciting true freshmen, although Eli Raridon tore his knee up in December playing basketball.
