The Notre Dame basketball team takes on Rutgers in the First Four tonight, and here is everything you need to get ready for the action.

The Notre Dame basketball team will try and punch their ticket to the Field of 64, as they take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the First Four tonight. For the Irish, they had a pretty successful regular season, earning the No. 2 overall seed in the ACC Tournament, but they would go on to lose to Virginia Tech in the quarterfinal round.

That led to them being one of the First Four, and their opponent, Rutgers, has their fair share of big wins this season. They became the first unranked team to beat four straight ranked opponents, and while they were bounced in the Big Ten Tournament, they did enough to earn a chance to take on No. 6 Alabama on Friday.

Notre Dame will have their hands full in this one, but in terms of the rosters, they should be able to take care of business.

Notre Dame and Rutgers match up pretty well in this one, and it could come down to which team is making it from the outside. They both have shooters, and more than a few guards that can fill it up, but the depth of the Irish could prove to be the difference tonight against the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers relies heavily on a two-guard combo of Geo Baker and Ron Harper Jr., while the Irish have four guards who can go for double-figures on any night. Rutgers has a star down low in Clifford Omoruyi, but with how well Paul Atkinson Jr. is playing lately, the Irish should be able to keep him in check.

Overall, this is a matchup that could go down to the wire, but in the end, I like the Irish.
