Notre Dame football: Exciting storylines during 2022 Spring Practice

Freeman’s first spring as head coach

Last spring, Marcus Freeman was getting his feet wet on the Notre Dame campus, coming in as the program’s new defensive coordinator. It did not take long for everyone around him to realize what a special talent he was as a coach, and now, he enters the 2022 spring at the wheel of the franchise.

The Irish are in great hands with Freeman, who has been as good a recruiter as he has been a coach since landing in South Bend. He is a special man, and I believe he is going to push this program to new heights, based on the way he is with his players and all the staff he puts around himself.

The truth is, there is enough talent on this roster to challenge for a spot in the College Football Playoff next season, and they have the right guy at the helm. The Notre Dame football program is building back up where it will challenge for national titles every year, and the 2022 team could be a special one.
