The Notre Dame football team got great play from Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa during his time in South Bend, and he is rocketing up draft boards.

Going into the draft season for the 2022 NFL Draft, there was not a ton of buzz surrounding the Notre Dame football program. Sure, they had a top-5 pick in Kyle Hamilton, but he had been considered a first-round talent for quite some time, and there is no doubt he is going to be one of the first players taken.

Outside of Hamilton, Kyren Williams was seen as a definite draft pick, but that was about it, meaning players like Jack Coan, Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, and Kevin Austin Jr. would need to impress at the NFL Combine to improve their draft status. For Tagovailoa-Amosa, he definitely passed the test, and it is pretty clear that he is going to hear his name called across the three-day event in late April.

Notre Dame star headed for the third round?

In a recent mock draft over at Drafttek, not only does Tagovailoa-Amosa get drafted, but he rockets up into Day 2. With the No. 96 overall pick in the third round, a pick they got from Seattle in the Russell Wilson trade, the Denver Broncos select Tagovailoa-Amosa, which would be an excellent landing spot for him.

Denver is in a position to improve in a big way this upcoming season with Wilson under center, and the defense is expected to be solid as well. Tagovailoa-Amosa is one of the more versatile defensive linemen in this draft class, and Denver has needs on both the edge and in the middle of their defensive line.

When the draft season started, many felt that Tagovailoa-Amosa would be seen as a Round 7 pick or even an undrafted free agent, but things are changing. He turned some heads at the NFL Combine, and now, he has firmly cemented his place as a legitimate 2022 NFL Draft prospect.
