The Notre Dame football program needs more bodies at the wide receiver position, and adding Carnell Tate has to be a priority in that department.

Looking ahead to the 2022 college football season, there is a lot to like about this Notre Dame football team. They have potential draft picks on both sides of the ball and a handful of players who could end up going in the first or second rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft.

However, some position groups lack both talent and depth, and wide receiver is one of them. Sure, there is no shortage of talent, as the Irish have multiple players who can take the lid off a defense at any time, but there is certainly a shortage in numbers.

They did see some players return, as Avery Davis is back, as is Braden Lenzy, and Lorenzo Styles Jr. showed himself to have star potential last season. There are younger faces as well on this roster, and one recruit coming in, but overall, if the Irish struggle with injuries at the position group, they could be in trouble.

Here, we look ahead to the 2023 recruiting class, and why Carnell Tate coming in is so important.
