Notre Dame football: Landing Carnell Tate is crucial for the 2023 class

2022 Recruiting Class

During the 2022 recruiting cycle, Notre Dame was only able to bring in one wide receiver, as they got the talented Tobias Merriweather to commit to the program. Early on, it looked like this would be a huge class in terms of the position group, as both C.J. Williams and Amorion Walker looked to be headed to South Bend.

However, Williams landed at USC, and Walker decided on Michigan, leaving Merriweather as the only incoming wide receiver for 2022. While he may be the only name coming to the Irish, he is certainly one to keep an eye on, as he is one of the higher-rated wideouts in the country, and should make an immediate impact once he gets to campus.

Notre Dame did bring in an incredible class outside of the wide receiver spot, as they brought in a bunch of offensive line help, tight ends, a running back, and a quarterback, but WR was a glaring miss. With new wide receiver coach Chansi Stuckey coming aboard, and his history at the position group, maybe he can make a big difference in recruiting moving forward.
