The Notre Dame football program is always a big player during the 2022 NFL Draft, and here is how that affects recruiting.

The NFL Draft is quickly approaching. For the players, this represents the most important moment in their professional careers. It dictates what team a player will initially go and play for, and therefore who will coach and develop them at the next level.

Of course, for most players being drafted is the pinnacle of their careers, simply due to how hard it is to sustain an NFL career. Because of this, the NFL Draft rightly becomes a moment when we celebrate all these players and remember who they are as people and what they brought to the college programs that they played for.

Notre Dame football, traditionally, has several players drafted every single year. In the 2021 NFL Draft, Notre Dame football had nine players taken in the draft.

Out of all the teams in FBS football, no one has had more players taken in the NFL Draft than Notre Dame has, with 520 draft picks all-time. From Bill Shakespeare (taken third overall in the 1936 NFL Draft) to Ben Skowronek (taken 249th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft), the Irish have dominated the draft.
