Notre Dame football: Irish have eyes on historic 2023 recruiting class

Elite targets remain

While the haul has been outstanding so far for the Irish, elite talent remains, and the biggest of them all has to be quarterback Dante Moore. Moore just enjoyed another visit on campus in South Bend, and the Irish pulled out all the stops, including him being pictured on a chair of gold bars in front of a Heisman Trophy.

Moore is rumored to be a real possibility for Notre Dame football, and he would change a lot in terms of what the depth chart would look like at quarterback immediately.

The No. 1 safety in the class, Caleb Downs is trending towards the Irish, as is Carnell Tate, the team’s No. 1 target in terms of the wide receiver position. Imagining a future with Tate and Lorenzo Styles Jr. atop the depth chart at this position group would make the Irish passing attack a serious problem for opposing defenses.
