Notre Dame football: 3 potential 2023 NFL Draft first-round picks

No. 2: Isaiah Foskey

Looking at the defense for this Notre Dame football team in 2022, you have to be excited about what the Irish will bring to the table in terms of the pass rush. Last season, Isaiah Foskey stepped in for two edge rushers who were drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, as both Daelin Hayes and Ade Ogundeji were selected, leaving the Irish with needs coming off the edge.

Not only did Foskey do a great job taking over, but he dominated, raising his draft stock to the point where many felt he could have been a Day 2 pick this year. Instead, Foskey decided to return to South Bend, and with another season like the one he put together last year, he should be one of the first edge rushers off the board this season.

Foskey has the speed and size coming off the edge that NFL teams desire, and he plays with an incredible motor. Edge rusher is one of the key positions on the defense, and a premium position at the next level, and looking at the 2023 class, Foskey could end up being the best of the bunch.
