The Notre Dame football team should be loaded on defense in 2022, and the Ademilola twins are a big reason why.

As we inch closer to the Blue-Gold Game, we are getting a good opportunity to see what this Notre Dame football team is going to look like next season. Luckily for Marcus Freeman and his staff, many possible 2022 NFL Draft picks decided to return to the school, leaving them with a loaded roster on both sides of the ball.

On defense, the amount of talent that returned was abundant, as Isaiah Foskey came back after a breakout season, and so did Cam Hart. Both men were expected to be Day 2 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, and both solidify two very important position groups on this Notre Dame defense.

Also returning to the defense this season are the Ademilola twins, Jayson and Justin, who will key the defensive front in South Bend. Jayson was able to take advantage of COVID-19 eligibility rules to get an extra season, and due to the fact he redshirted as a freshman, Justin is back as well.

Both players had strong 2021 campaigns, and both will be expected to play even larger roles in 2022.

Notre Dame football: Ademilola twins key for the Irish defense in 2022

Jayson will man his spot on the inside again this season, and after breaking out in his first full season as a starter in 2021, will be tasked with being a disruptive force along the interior. Justin is likely to play behind Foskey again, but he showed the ability to get after the quarterback in a big way last year, so Freeman and his staff will find ways to get him on the field.

There are question marks on the offense this year, as the Irish have very little depth at wide receiver, and the quarterback position is still up for grabs. For Notre Dame football, the defense may have to lead the way early on, and the Ademilola twins are going to play a big role in any kind of success they have on that side of the ball.
