Notre Dame football: How to watch the 2022 Blue-Gold Game
By Brad Weiss
The Notre Dame football team will take the field today in the annual Blue-Gold Game, and here is how you can catch all the action.
The time has finally come for the Notre Dame football team to step back into Notre Dame Stadium and get to work. Notre Dame football has been practicing for weeks now, and today, the annual Blue-Gold Game will take place inside Notre Dame Stadium.
This matchup is going to be a showcase of what the Irish roster looks like this season, and will be an opportunity for players to move up the depth chart at their respective positions. We will not see the quarterback battle we were hoping for, however, as Tyler Buchner will miss the game with an ankle injury, and Drew Pyne will play for both teams.
Still, this is going to be an exciting afternoon in South Bend, as the Irish hope to see some of their true freshmen step up, as well as some of the players who are expected to take over for the talent who left after last season. Some big-name players went to the NFL or graduated after last year’s successful campaign, so this is the first big audition for their replacements in front of the Irish faithful.

Another big storyline for this matchup is the number of commits that will be in attendance, including Keon Keeley, a five-star defensive end from Florida who is the top-rated prospect to commit to the Irish for the 2023 class. Notre Dame football also has some players who have yet to announce their commitment, including five-star safety Caleb Downs, who would join Peyton Bowen, a four-star safety who is a top-5 player at his position this year.
