The Notre Dame football team could have the No. 1 class in 2023, but that is not stopping Marcus Freeman and company from focusing on 2024 as well.

Notre Dame football started the weekend off with a bang right after the Blue-Gold Game wrapped up, as they got a commitment from 2024 defensive lineman out of Michigan, Brandon Davis-Swain.

With his pledge now public, he starts off the 2024 recruiting class as the lone commit and it’s a big one. Obviously being on campus just felt right and everything was what he expected and more.

It’s obvious he believes in what Freeman is building and his relationship with defensive line coach Al Washington is second to none after making the decision to pop in favor of Notre Dame football. At the moment Davis-Swain has 18 offers from the likes of Michigan, Tennessee, Penn State, and many other top programs.

Currently, the Notre Dame football team has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country per 247Sports.com, and this gets the 2024 class off to a hot start as well. It is clear that head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff are building something special in South Bend.

What will Brandon Davis-Swain bring to the Notre Dame football team?

The 6’4 240-pound defensive lineman is going to bring strength, aggression, and athleticism to the front seven. He had a big-time performance at the Under Armour regional not too long ago and everyone on site took notice. His strength for a sophomore is eye-popping.

He moves his feet really well off the ball for his size and has a great bull rush off the edge who’s just downright relentless trying to get in the backfield. He’s also really athletic moving side to side and shows that he can chase down the ball carrier with ease.

This is an outstanding start for defensive coordinator Al Golden and of course his position coach Al Washington to get this 2024 class rolling. Brandon Davis-Swain starts off the class with a bang and once again recruiting continues to roll for Freeman and company.
