The Notre Dame football team got tremendous play from the versatile Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, something that will help him at the next level

Over the past few seasons, Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa has proven to be a key piece to this Notre Dame football team. A versatile defensive lineman who has played inside and out upfront for the Irish, Tagovailoa-Amosa will now try to embark on a new challenge, as he was an undrafted rookie free agent signing by the Las Vegas Raiders.

Seen as a potential Day 3 draft pick, he was not picked across the three-day event, but landing in Las Vegas has to be a blessing in disguise for him. He joins a defense with a new coordinator, and plenty of room to grow, so he is someone who has a legitimate shot to go from UDFA to a member of the 53-man roster.

Switching to a Base 3-4 defense this season, Las Vegas needs linebackers and edge rushers, and Tagovailoa-Amosa could help them in both areas.

Notre Dame football star in a perfect spot in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is in a great spot to continue to improve, this after making the playoffs last season for the second time since the 2002 campaign. Currently, Tagovailoa-Amosa is listed as an outside linebacker for the Silver and Black, an area of need for the franchise, and an area where he could make an impact this spring and summer.

Tagovailoa-Amosa will also be in a great spot as he learns from two of the best defensive players in the NFL in Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones. Both men are adept at getting after the quarterback, and both are the kind of leaders you need in a locker room, especially around younger players.

Making a 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent is never an easy thing, but based on what we saw from Tagovailoa-Amosa during his time in South Bend, he has the passion to do just that. The Raiders are a team to watch this upcoming season, and for Notre Dame football fans, a favorite could help them get back to the playoffs.
