The Notre Dame football team is loaded at the running back spot, and veteran Chris Tyree is as important to their success as any other RB on the roster.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Notre Dame football team has question marks this season, especially at the quarterback spot. In Mid-May already, the Irish have yet to name a starting quarterback for the upcoming campaign, a task that will likely drag into the summer months.

For the Irish, getting their starters in line will be crucial this summer, as there is no cupcake to start the 2022 season. Notre Dame football will travel to Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes, a potential CFP contender, and a team with a potential Heisman-Trophy winning quarterback at the helm.

While the Irish decide what to do at quarterback, running back is another question mark, as there is a ton of talent and only one football. Despite what Logan Diggs did last season, and how good Audric Estime looks, Chris Tyree cannot be forgotten, as he is just as important to this offense going forward.

Notre Dame football needs all RBs to step up in 2022

With very few bodies at the wide receiver position, and a new quarterback taking over as the starter this season, the Notre Dame football team needs all their running backs to step up in 2022. Showing flashes of brilliance during his career, Tyree has that big-play ability this offense is going to need, and I believe Tommy Rees is going to have many plays in the playbook just for him.

The truth is, the Notre Dame football team has the talent on both sides of the ball to be legitimate CFP contenders themselves, but it will have to be a collective effort at running back that replaces feature back Kyren Williams in 2022. Expect Tyree to play a big role in what this team does, whether it is in the run game, through the air, or as a return man in what should be a special season in South Bend.
