Notre Dame football: Ranking which 2022 rookie UDFA will make the team

No. 1: Jack Coan, QB, Indianapolis Colts

Finally, we turn our attention to the Indianapolis Colts, who made a major move at the quarterback position this offseason. The Colts brought in Matt Ryan to replace Carson Wentz, and based on the talent returning to this roster, the addition of Ryan could be the difference in them being a playoff team this season.

Behind Ryan, however, are a group of veterans who have never done much at the NFL level, clearing the way for Jack Coan to take over as QB2 as a rookie. Sure, he was a UDFA, and sure, he may not start camp very high on the totem pole, but in the end, his leadership and skill set will earn him the spot behind Ryan.

Looking at the talent behind Ryan, Coan is the one you would want to take over and start if the starter gets injured this upcoming season. Indianapolis is a playoff-ready team, and for Coan, he would not have picked a better spot to start his NFL journey, one that could end with him being a starter in the league one day.
