Notre Dame football continues to stack talent for the 2023 recruiting class, this time landing a talented running back in Jayden Limar.

Notre Dame football has landed 2023 running back Jayden Limar out of Washington. Limar was recently on campus and enjoyed every bit of it. The staff has prioritized Limar since the day they offered and that hasn’t changed.

The Irish recently lost a commitment in running back Sedrick Irvin Jr and a big reason why was because the current staff was really high on Limar, among others and Irvin wasn’t in the plans for the new staff moving forward. It’s unfortunate but that’s the business of college football now, especially with these kids wanting to be treated like professionals and get paid.

Limar felt like a priority and he didn’t want to wait any long to make it official. The relationships were big time for him as well in making this decision and he really meshed well with the current commits and roster.

At the moment, Limar holds 19 offers from the likes of Oregon, Michigan, Southern Cal and many more.

What does Jayden Limar bring to the Notre Dame football team?

The 5’11 190-pound running back has speed, athleticism and consistency in his game to name a few. He’s very powerful for his size and it takes multiple tackles to bring him down most of the time. Limar is someone that’ll really thrive under the strength program with some added weight too.

A prototypical running back that fits the position like a glove. Low center of gravity and stays on his feet really well. I’d say he’s a faster Kyren Williams with less wiggle and moves but someone who could really thrive in that similar role in the Irish offense. He’s a solid back coming out of the backfield as well and runs north and south which you love to see from a very talented high school back.

I’d love to see him develop in pass protection but usual it’s takes some experience from running backs this early in their career. During his junior season he had over 1,900 yards from scrimmage and had an average of 7.41 yards per carry. He ran for 20 touchdowns, had four receiving touchdowns and added a kickoff return to his stats.

With Jayden Limar making it official, the Irish 2023 recruiting class has 13 pledges with 8 on defense and now 5 of the offensive side, still holding onto the number one class in the nation by a lot.

Limar starts fresh for the running back room with most likely one more spot to fill, making it a solid duo heading into signing day at the end of the year. Running back coach Deland McCullough got his guy, that’s for sure. And he’s expecting and wanting to get one more big fish when the time comes.
