The Notre Dame basketball team saw Blake Wesley go one-and-done in 2021-22, but where will he land in the 2022 NBA Draft.

This past season, anyone who watched the Notre Dame basketball team was quickly able to see who the best player on the squad was. After being inserted into the starting lineup for the Kentucky game, a game that saw him hit the game-winning shot, Blake Wesley established himself as the go-to guy for the Irish.

Now, after a season that saw Wesley help the Irish to the NCAA Tournament, Wesley will prepare for his next journey, and that is the NBA. After only one season, Wesley decided to declare for the 2022 NBA Draft, leaving the Notre Dame basketball program after one unforgettable year.

Now, as we look towards the draft, which is to take place later this month, the real question is where will Wesley land.

Jonathan Wasserman from Bleacher Report recently updated his 2022 NBA Mock Draft, and in it, he had Wesley at No. 30 overall, landing with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Joal Ryan from 247Sports.com has him at No. 27 to the Miami Heat, and CBSSports.com had him a bit higher, going to Minnesota at No. 19.

Overall, that leaves Wesley out of the Lottery, and while the move to the NBA will make him a first-round pick, you have to think that one more year could have made him a top-10 selection.

Notre Dame basketball must replace his elite scoring ability

With Wesley headed to the pros, Notre Dame basketball has to find a way to replace his scoring, and they got some good news on that front this week. Nate Laszewski will return for a fifth season in South Bend and will be joined by Dane Goodwin, who finished second to Wesley in points per game last season.

Also, JJ Starling will be joining the fold, and he is one of the best high school players in the country, as well as a player who could have a Wesley-like impact in Year 1. The Irish are going to be fine, and for Wesley, the hope is that he can continue to climb in these mock drafts heading towards the real thing later this month.
