Notre Dame football: 5 early bold predictions for 2022

OL wins the Joe Moore Award

The Notre Dame football team may have some weaknesses on the offensive side of the ball, including the wide receiver spot, where there is not much depth. They also still do not know who their quarterback is going to be for the Ohio State game, so there is some work left to be done this summer by the coaching staff.

However, one area where they know they are going to be strong is up front along the offensive line, where they could have the best unit in the country. Notre Dame football will see all five of their starting offensive linemen from a year ago return, including center Jarrett Patterson, who may be the best player at his position in the country.

The true sophomore tandem at offensive tackle will be impressive, as Joe Alt and Blake Fisher could end up being All-Americans. The Irish are strong on the outside, and in the interior, and with Harry Hiestand returning as offensive line coach, there is no reason the Irish should not be the favorite for the Joe Moore Award in 2022.
