Notre Dame football: 5 early bold predictions for 2022

Irish run the table

We know the Week 1 matchup against Ohio State is going to be a tough one, as they have one of the better teams in the country on both sides of the ball. However, the Irish have the talent to go toe-to-toe with them as well, and that is going to be a game that is going to go down to the wire, even on the road.

If the Irish can beat Ohio State, the slate gets a lot easier, and they could be undefeated as they head to California to take on rival USC. The Trojans have a brand new coaching staff this season, led by head coach Lincoln Riley, and while some of his players followed him to USC, there are a lot of kids he did not recruit on that roster.

If Notre Dame football is undefeated going into that game, it means they likely have already punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff no matter the outcome, but running the table is a real possibility if we can get there. The Trojans should be outstanding this season, even in Riley’s first season, but the Irish should be a freight train at that point in the season.
