Notre Dame football: Imagining what the WR group could be in 2023

Budding second-year superstar?

We discussed the first year from Styles earlier in the piece, and for Notre Dame football fans, they have to be excited about what he could bring to the table this upcoming season. A few veterans are returning in players like Braden Lenzy and Avery Davis, but Styles is the one that most fans have their eyes on.

Like Styles, another first-year wide receiver could make a major impact this upcoming season, and that is Tobias Merriweather. Sure, the Irish may have missed on two other wide receivers in the 2022 recruiting class, but Merriweather is a special talent and has the skill set to rocket up the depth chart in South Bend.

By the time the 2023 season rolls around, Merriweather will already have a year under his belt, and hopefully, he flashes for the Irish the way Styles did last season. If that is the case, then Notre Dame football has two young stars to build the position group around and based on his size and speed, Merriweather has a good chance to be special in Year 1.
