The Notre Dame football team has a tall task ahead of them in Week 1, but the offensive line has to be able to pave the way against the Buckeyes.

Looking ahead to the 2022 college football season, we have a blockbuster of a game in Week 1, as the Notre Dame football team will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. For the Irish, this is a chance to prove to the nation that they are a legitimate team to beat in 2022 and bolster their College Football Playoff status.

However, Ohio State is going to be a tough task, as they have a Heisman Trophy candidate in CJ Stroud at quarterback and so many weapons on offense. They also have a strong defensive line, so for Notre Dame football to hang with them, their offensive line has to be up for the challenge.

Luckily for head coach Marcus Freeman, his entire starting offensive line returns in 2022, and it has the potential to be the best unit in the country. If they can get their push against Ohio State, that should create lanes for their strong running back room in Logan Diggs, Audric Estime, and Chris Tyree, and control the clock.

They do that, and they should be in good shape.

Notre Dame football with the Week 1 upset?

Looking at both teams, there is no reason why the Irish cannot hang with the Buckeyes in Week 1, and possibly even pull off the victory. They have talent up front along both lines, first-round players on both sides of the ball, and enough playmakers on offense to match the Buckeyes blow-for-blow.

Many feel Ohio State is going to win this one, and possibly challenge for a national title, but Notre Dame football should not be counted out by any measure.

This is going to be must-see television right out of the gate for this 2022 Notre Dame football team and to beat Ohio State, the offensive line needs to be strong and consistent the whole way through.
