The Notre Dame football team is nearing its 2022 fall camp, and here, we look at the quarterback position group.

The 2022 Notre Dame football team has some high expectations, as they nearly made it to the College Football playoff last season. For the Irish, a lot of their success is going to depend on how first-year head coach Marcus Freeman navigates a pretty tough 2022 slate.

One other key for this team will be the play of the quarterback, as right now, there is no clear starter with only around six weeks until their huge matchup against Ohio State. That game should be a battle of top-10 teams and will be the crown jewel of the opening weekend of what should be an exciting 2022 season.

The battle should rage on between two players, as Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne are deadlocked for the QB1 spot. The Blue-Gold Game was supposed to create space between the two players, but Pyne struggled, and Buchner did not play, so that became a moot point.

Here, we look at the position group as a whole entering the 2022 fall camp.
