The Notre Dame football team is loaded with possible first-round talent, but here, we look at three players who need to exceed their expectations in 2022.

Looking ahead to the 2022 college football season, all eyes are going to be on first-year head coach Marcus Freeman, who will look to move Notre Dame football forward as a program. While the Irish are always a very good team, that is not the goal in South Bend, and the standard is winning championships.

For the Irish to be a possible College Football Playoff team, these three players must exceed their expectations.

Ramon Henderson

We start in the defensive backfield, as Ramon Henderson is someone to keep an eye on this Fall. The converted cornerback has a real chance to start at the safety position alongside Brandon Joseph, a player many feels will be an All-American this season after transferring from Northwestern.

In Henderson, the Irish would be getting a guy who stepped up in a big way when Kyle Hamilton was hurt last season and got a lot of experience. Notre Dame football is playing some elite offenses in 2022, and strong safety play will be key, especially in Week 1 against CJ Stroud and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
