Notre Dame football: 3 players who must exceed expectations in 2022

Audric Estime

During the 2021 college football season, one true freshman running back stole the show, and that running back was Logan Diggs. Playing as the No. 2 behind Kyren Williams, Diggs put together some highlight reel plays, and his work on the field captivated Irish fans, giving them a glimpse at what the position could look like moving forward.

However, Diggs is injured right now, and we do not know when he is going to be back, so the combination of Chris Tyree and Audric Estime will lead the way against Ohio State in Week 1. Both players have a distinct running style, and while we know what we will get out of Tyree, what can we expect from Estime.

The truth is, Estime is an incredible talent and can get the job done whether he is running over a defender, or running by one. The expectation has to be that he emerges as a real threat for the Irish in 2022 because the offense is going to struggle if he does not.
