The Notre Dame football program has a star in defensive tackle Jayson Ademilola, who was recently honored by Pro Football Focus.

The 2022 college football season is right around the corner, which means the Notre Dame football team is preparing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Week 1 matchup between these two powerhouse programs is going to be as good as it gets when it comes to the schedule across the country this Fall.

For the Irish, getting out to a good start to the season is paramount, especially with a schedule that has three elite games in it. Recently, they were named as playing in three of the top-10 playoff-shifting games of the 2022 campaign, so Week 1 is huge for their CFP playoff hopes.

The key in that one will be stopping Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud, and to do so, they will need big help from their defensive line. We are always talking about Isaiah Foskey, but Jayson Ademilola is a player to keep an eye on, and he is starting to get national recognition.

PFF names Notre Dame football star a top-25 Interior defensive lineman

It is that time of year when major publications start announcing their top players at each position group, and Pro Football Focus is ripping through them. They recently put out a list of the top-25 interior defensive linemen in the country, and Ademilola came in at No. 14 overall.

The return of the Ademilola twins was huge for first-year head coach Marcus Freeman, as they are not only talented players but great locker room guys. Ademilola is an interesting prospect, as he has the talent to be a Day 2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and possesses great versatility, so he will play a large role on this defense in 2022.

Notre Dame football has a tough schedule in 2022, but it is players like Ademilola that could make them a surprise College Football Playoff team in Freeman’s first season at the helm. If he plays up to his capabilities, this defensive line is going to be one of the best in the country.
