The Notre Dame football team got an elite commitment from CJ Carr, and he continues to rise in the recent 2024 rankings.

For the 2022 Notre Dame football team, one big question mark is the quarterback spot, as both Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne are battling it out for the starting job. Most believe that Buchner will get the nod, especially after a strong true freshman season, but Pyne also had some moments in 2021 as well.

In the future, this may not be the problem, as the Irish have a commitment from one of the best quarterbacks in the 2024 class in CJ Carr. Carr is someone you can build a program around, and he continues to rise on the national scene.

Recently, 247Sports.com put out an update of their composite rankings for the 2024 recruiting class, and Carr made a meteoric rise. In fact, not only did he jump into the top 15, landing at No. 14 overall, but he did so by moving up 19 spots.

The strong-armed signal-caller from Michigan is now seen as the No. 3 quarterback overall for that class, and the No. 1 player in the state of Michigan. There is a very good chance he could be the top quarterback in the class before all is said and done.

Notre Dame football building elite recruiting classes

Since Marcus Freeman took over as head coach, the Notre Dame football team has been on another level in terms of recruiting. No longer is bringing in a top 10 class a priority, but now, with Freeman at the helm, the Irish are looking to bring in the top class in the country, and play with big-time programs like Alabama and Ohio State.

Notre Dame football currently has the No. 1 class in the country for both the 2023 and 2024 cycles, an unprecedented run of recruiting for this storied program. They are no longer going to be looking up to anybody in terms of bringing in the best talent in the country, and this could be the start of something very special in South Bend.
