The Notre Dame football team heads home to take on Marshall in Week 2, and here is our game preview and prediction for the matchup.

Notre Dame football made a case to be one of the premier teams in college football last week during a 21-10 loss to Ohio State. Usually if a team opens the season with a 11 point loss, it means they’re simply not good.

However, when opening against a bonafide super team in Ohio State while facing a 17.5-point spread, containing the nation’s top offense from a year ago to 21 points (its lowest total since 2018) is a massive moral win. It means the Irish can hang with the best of the best. Now all that’s left to do is get over the hump offensively and figure out how to put the ball in the endzone and manufacture more explosive plays.

Enter the Marshall Thundering Herd, and the home opener for Notre Dame. Week two should be an opportunity to open up the playbook, get the ball into the hands of our dynamic athletes, and really find out what works and what doesn’t work before the season progresses too far.

In a sentence, this should be a game that helps this Notre Dame team find an identity.
