The Notre Dame football team looked very good in their win over the North Carolina Tar Heels, but still are getting no love from the AP.

The Notre Dame football team traveled to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take on an undefeated Tar Heels team this past weekend, and won in convincing fashion. Playing against one of the better offenses in the country, the Irish stood toe-to-toe with them, built up a strong halftime lead, and held on for a 45-32 victory.

For the Irish, who have their bye week this week, the win could not have been more important. They now go into the bye week sitting at 2-2 after a terrible 0-2 start, and a win against a program like the Tar Heels should get their season on the right track.

On Sunday, when the latest AP Poll was released, we tried to find the Notre Dame football team, but once again, they were shut out.

Notre Dame football does not receive a single vote from the AP

Notre Dame football started out at No. 5 in the 2022 AP Poll, then dropped to No. 8 after the loss to Ohio State. The loss to Marshall blasted them out of the top 25, and since then, they have not received a single vote to get back into the mix.

Incredibly, the team they dominated on Saturday, UNC, got votes, as did Syracuse, a team they will meet up with in a few weeks.

Notre Dame football has plenty of chances to get back in the rankings, as they take on BYU right out of the bye week, a team that is currently ranked No. 19 overall. The Irish also have some monster games left on their schedule, including matchups against rivals like Clemson and USC, two teams that currently are ranked in the top 6 in the country.
