The Notre Dame football team takes on No. 16-ranked BYU on Saturday night, and here are the early odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and our early prediction.

The Notre Dame football team went into their bye week after a stellar victory against UNC on the road, a game that saw the run game come to life, and quarterback Drew Pyne take a big step forward in his development. Now, the Irish come out of the bye week with a home game against BYU, though it will not be your typical Irish home Saturday in South Bend.

In fact, the No. 16 BYU Cougars will battle it out against Notre Dame football inside Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium is one of the premier new building in the NFL, making this an excellent backdrop for what should be an exciting game on Saturday night.

Notre Dame football vs BYU Odds Week 6

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Irish and BYU are very close in talent, and the spread is only 3.5 points in favor of the Irish. If you decide to pick the Irish straight up, the return would be -176, while a straight up pick of the BYU Cougars comes in at +146. The over/under for this contest is set at 51.5, so it is clear that the oddsmakers expect a ton of offense in this matchup.

Notre Dame football vs BYU Prediction Week 6

BYU is an incredibly talented team, and has earned the No. 16 rank in the country after their 4-1 start to the season that includes a win over Baylor early on. Quarterback Jaren Hall is a playmaker under center, and is rocketing up draft boards for the 2023 NFL Draft, but he will face a tough defense in this one.

Against UNC last weekend, the Irish established the run in a big, and I believe that will be the case again on Saturday night. The Cougars have struggled against the run this season, and if Audric Estime, Chris Tyree, and Logan Diggs have anything to say about it, that trend will continue inside Allegiant Stadium.

Notre Dame football may not be ranked, and may have a bad loss to Marshall on their resume, but they are the better team in this matchup. They found something against UNC, and with Pyne playing the way he has over the last game and a half, the offense should be able to score enough, with the defense getting enough stops to come away with a small victory in the desert.

Early Prediction: Notre Dame football 28, BYU 24
