On Saturday afternoon, the Notre Dame football team will welcome the UNLV Rebels to Notre Dame Stadium in a game that could end up being a lopsided affair. The Irish may only be 3-3 this season and coming off a bad loss to Stanford, but they are by far the better team in this matchup, and the oddsmakers believe that to be so.
Notre Dame football had been rolling heading into the battle against Stanford, even beating No. 16 ranked BYU pretty handily the weekend before. However, it was clear from the start that something was not right, as the offense could not get it going, and Stanford kept hanging around.

The over/under for this contest is set at 49.5, so if there is going to be scoring, it likely is going to come from the Irish.

Heading into crucial matchups against Syracuse and Clemson, the Irish have to make sure they do not overlook the Rebels on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Marcus Freeman will be tasked with also making sure his team does not play down to their competition, which good programs have a tendency to do sometimes.
In this matchup, the Irish should roll, as they are more talented, have better coaches, and are playing at home. That is a good recipe for win No. 4 this season, and in the end, I believe the Irish will run all over the Rebels, control the line of scrimmage, and come away with a decision victory.
One thing to keep an eye on this game is the play of Drew Pyne, as if he struggles, we could get our first look at true freshman Steve Angeli. The UNLV defense should be no issue for Pyne in the passing game, so watch for how he does early on, and whether or not the coaching staff goes with Angeli for a spark.
