The Notre Dame football team will take on the UNLV Rebels in Week 8, and here is all the info you need for this matchup.

The Notre Dame football team (3-3) will host the UNLV Rebels (1-4) at home inside Notre Dame Stadium in Week 8. The Fighting Irish are a 26.5-point favorite and will look to win the first matchup between these two programs when they battle it out in South Bend on Saturday afternoon.

After winning three straight, the Irish fell to the Stanford Cardinal this past weekend in primetime, a game they had no business losing. Now, they will have to figure out a way to avoid going under .500 for the season, but against this Rebels team, they should have no problem picking up the victory.

Notre Dame football has had one heck of a season in their first year under Marcus Freeman, as they look good some weeks, and then lose to teams like Stanford and Marshall in others. Drew Pyne took a big step backward this past weekend against the Cardinal, but against a very bad UNLV defense, I believe he looks more like the Pyne that brought this program back to life earlier this season.

For the Irish, the goal is simple, get out of this game with a win, and look forward to possibly beating some ranked opponents in the coming weeks in Syracuse and Clemson, two teams who will play each other in Week 8.

A loss to this UNLV team, especially without Doug Brumfield, would spell doom for some on this coaching staff. Freeman is not going anywhere, but it is clear that they have been outcoached far too often this season, especially against the lesser opponents who have beaten them inside Notre Dame Stadium.
