The Notre Dame football team takes on Syracuse in Week 9, and here are the best bets you can place on the Irish in this must-win game.

Sitting at 4-3 on the season, the Notre Dame football program is looking for a signature win in 2022, and they could get it this weekend against Syracuse. The Orange go into their matchup with the Irish with a 6-1 record, their only loss coming last week to the Clemson Tigers, who currently are the No. 5 team in the country per the AP Poll.

It has been a wild season for the Irish, as they looked good against Ohio State in the opener, a team currently ranked No. 2 overall. Since then, however, it has been one nightmare after another, and after losing to a down Stanford team a few weeks back, they were able to get back into the win column against a bad UNLV team last weekend.

Here, we look at the matchup between them and Syracuse from a betting perspective, giving our take on how you may want to bet this matchup.

Best Notre Dame football Bets Week 9

According to Reed Wallach from BetSided.com, the Irish are going to lose in this one, and the Orange are going to cover the spread. Wallach points to the fact that the Irish defense has been suspect on defense this season, and expects Syracuse QB Garrett Shrader to have his way with them.

Looking at this matchup, you have to like Shrader to have a big day against the Irish, but that is not a foregone conclusion. Many felt BYU star quarterback Jaren Hall would feast on the Irish defense a few weeks back, but after an interception on the first play of the game, the Notre Dame defense was able to set the tone.

In this one, I like the Irish to hang around, and I would have no problem taking them on the moneyline at +100. Notre Dame seems to step up in big games, and to add to this bet, look for the +200 anytime touchdown scorer bet for Chris Tyree over at FanDuel Sportsbook.

In the end, I believe the Irish are too unpredictable to bet them straight up, or even to take the points. However, Tyree should find the end zone in this one, and on that bet, you can double your money.
