Notre Dame football flipped Wisconsin offensive lineman commit Christopher Terek out of Illinois on Sunday evening.

The staff recently offered Terek about a month ago and have been coming hard at him ever since. Wisconsin is in a coaching change transition, who ironically announced Luke Fickell as their new head coach at the exact same time Terek posted to social media that he was flipping to Notre Dame. The culture, academic, and upward trajectory were huge here for Terek to make that ultimate decision in picking the Irish. Obviously, the standard of offensive linemen at Notre Dame was massive, and one of the best coaches at the position teaching him for the next four or five years was the cherry on top. — Currently, Terek holds 25 offers from Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky, and many more.

What will Terek bring to South Bend?

The 6’5, 320-pound lineman is a big, strong, and nasty lineman. He’s going to bring a dominant style on the offensive line that Notre Dame and offensive line coach Harry Heistand loves. Of course, he’s someone that people could see as a tackle. Still, I could see him shifting and staying inside to guard because of that strength and run-blocking ability. He has a mean punch off the snap, and when he gets his hands on you, it’s pretty much over, whether that’s him imposing his will and pushing you back or stonewalling you on the line. You can’t teach that nastiness, and that’s what Terek definitely has as a player.

With Terek committing to Notre Dame football, the 2023 class now holds 25 pledges, with 12 on defense and 13 on the offensive side of the ball. Terek will join the offensive line room with Joe Otting, Sam Pendleton, Sullivan Absher, and Charles Jagusah already in the fold. Five always seemed to be the number for Notre Dame in this class; they now have that bunch. Harry Heistand usually gets the guys he wants and gets his final missing puzzle piece upfront. Great job late in the process to get him locked in with less than a month until early signing day.
