With commitments happening all over the transfer portal but not much quarterback movement, will Pratt be a target for Notre Dame football in the future? The first hurdle to clear would be Pratt entering the transfer portal.

There has been an immense amount of rumors and chatter in college football that he may do just that. While Tulane has been great this year and has given him success and solid recognition, that would only be elevated with a program like Notre Dame football. To be fair to Tulane, they definitely haven’t done anything to deserve his entering the transfer portal. When it comes down to it, he may stay put, but something tells me there’ll at least be a conversation.

Listed at 6’3” and 220 pounds, Pratt has had an outstanding collegiate career, with his best year coming this past season. Pratt completed 64.5% of his passes for 2775 yards while throwing 25 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. He also rushed for 395 yards and an additional 10 touchdowns on the year. In addition, he can stand in the pocket and deliver a strike or move the ball with his legs, something Notre Dame football was missing this year.

While Drew Pyne had a moderately successful year and Buchner has the running ability, neither has put it all together like Michael. His hometown of Boca Raton may have something to do with his next destination, though, as surely Florida is in the market for a new quarterback next season. Like Notre Dame football, numerous schools could use a sure thing at the quarterback position.

It remains to be seen if Pratt will even enter the transfer portal. I haven’t heard enough chatter on him to think he’ll consider entering the NFL draft. He could more than benefit from some exposure at a big school with finding some success. His relationship with a new program could be mutually beneficial as he looks to get plenty of exposure leading a program to the playoffs.

Coaches Freeman and Rees should do everything they can to bring him to South Bend should he enter the portal. It’s hypothetical at this point, but it could come to fruition in the next couple of weeks.
