The Notre Dame football program has had plenty of recruiting success lately, especially in the class of 2024; could more be on the way? Josiah Brown and Demello Jones are 247Sports composite top 200 players. Both have listed the Fighting Irish among their top collegiate choices.

Demello Jones is an explosive athlete from Swainsboro, Georgia, only a couple of hours away from the home of the Georgia Bulldogs. As you can imagine, the Bulldogs made Jones’ top 10 schools, but Notre Dame football also made the final 10.

At 6’1” and 180 pounds, Jones won’t dominate defenses with his size but instead with his track speed and agility. Jones has some football lineage as his uncle, Deke Cooper, was a defensive back for none other than The University of Notre Dame. While he’s not a legacy for the Irish, it can’t hurt the team’s chances to have Jones’ uncle on their side. Rated as the 194th overall player in the class, regardless of where he ends up, Demello has a bright future on the field.

Josiah Brown is the 124th-ranked player in the nation according to 247Sports and 131st according to the composite. From Hicksville, New York, Brown is another extremely explosive athlete the Irish are targeting. At 6’0” and 170 pounds, Brown has a bit less size than Jones but is just as explosive and athletic with the football in his hands.

Among the schools in his top 10, Notre Dame is there with Georgia yet again, as well as Michigan, Miami, Nebraska, and South Carolina. Of course, Penn State could be one of the biggest threats for Brown, given the proximity to the school on the East coast. That said, this new Notre Dame football staff will be itching to make some big splashes on the offensive side of the football in the class of 2024.

Demello has been crystal-balled to Georgia, while Josiah has not received any predictions on future schools. Both have a long list of suitors they’ve narrowed down but seem open-minded to other schools. Regardless, the Irish making the top 10 for both bodes well for potentially landing the talented athletes.
