Notre Dame football: Three predictions logged favoring the Irish
By Tyler Kruse
Once again, Bryce Young, a Notre Dame football legacy thanks to his dad Bryant Young, was predicted to end up as a member of the Irish. New On3 recruiting analyst Kyle Kelly placed a few predictions yesterday in favor of the Fighting Irish.
One of the most significant predictions was for Bryce Young to join the Notre Dame football program. Kelly joins fellow Blue Gold On3 writer and analyst Mike Singer to have logged predictions favoring the Irish. They aren’t the only recruiting site members to do so, as Tom Loy, Steve Wiltfong, and Kevin Sinclair of 247Sports have also predicted him to South Bend.
Young is racking up offers left and right and going through the recruiting process as any young student-athlete should. At the end of the day, though, most recruiting services in the industry like Al Washington’s chances of landing the very talented edge rusher. At 6’5” and 240 pounds, Young has the size and athleticism to be a big-time player at the collegiate level. He’d look great in those gold helmets.
Kelly also logged a couple of other new predictions for athlete Cole Sullivan out of Central Catholic high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One that surprised me quite a bit was the prediction in favor of Notre Dame football landing Payton Pierce. Pierce has a great connection with most of the staff and loves the school.
It should be noted that when James Laurinaitis left the program to head to Ohio State, the Irish lost their most significant connection with Pierce. I’m surprised a prediction has been logged in favor of him without many new developments in the recruitment. Oklahoma seems like a leader there, and now Ohio State will have a great connection pre-built with Pierce.
Regardless, these highly talented prospects have been predicted to the Irish, and while it’s never an exact science, something is giving these insiders confidence. I’d be thrilled for the Irish to land any of the three guys predicted by Kelly.
