With the Blue Gold game wrapping up this past weekend, putting an end to spring ball for the Notre Dame football program, expect a string of commitments to happen soon. Targets who have recently set commitment dates have also been crystal-balled to the Irish by prominent members of the recruiting scene.

Since Bryce Young and Micah Gilbert have set their respective commitment dates for Saturday, April 29th, and Tuesday, May 2nd, they’ve both earned more predictions for the Irish. Bryce Young is a Notre Dame football legacy thanks to NFL Hall of Famer Bryant Young, and he has the size and tools to be a star in college and beyond.

Listed at 6’6” and 245 pounds, Young would be a literal massive addition to the defensive line for coach Washington and the Irish. He has six 247Sports crystal ball predictions for the Irish, including from insiders Tom Loy and Steve Wiltfong. Young was recently at the spring game in South Bend, watching the Irish this past Saturday.

Micah Gilbert will commit in just under a week and is also expected to end up in South Bend following his high school career. Gilbert, who is teammates with Young at Charlotte Christian, is ranked by 247Sports as the 199th-best prospect in the nation. He has solid size for a wide receiver at 6’3” and 200 pounds. Landing either of these guys will be a massive win, as I expect both to jump in the rankings in the coming season.

That’s not all, though, as other crystal balls have been dropped for the Irish lately for wide receiver Isaiah Canion and safety Kennedy Urlacher. But, again, the Irish have targeted these guys for a reason, and I expect both to climb the rankings.

Fresh off his visit to the Blue Gold game, top 100 player in the nation and linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa announced he will release his top three schools in a few days. That should be a good sign for the Irish that they’ve hopefully made his final cut, but they still have some work to do.

Regardless of how things shake out the next few weeks, I expect big things for the Notre Dame football program on the recruiting trail. Keep an eye out as we’re back pumping out content and will have more on future commitments.
