Notre Dame football vs Conference USA

So take everything that was just said about the AAC and its ability to find itself on Notre Dame’s schedule and amplify it by as much as humanly possible, and that’s the answer to the question of “Will Conference USA find itself on Notre Dame’s schedule anytime soon?”

Not once in the history of the Conference USA has Notre Dame played any of the current teams after the upcoming July 1, 2023 realignment:

FIU, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico State, Sam Houston, UTEP, and WKU.

In truth, the AAC took many of Conference USA’s flagship programs (UTSA, UAB, UNT) and left Conference USA looking for FCS programs like Jacksonville State and Sam Houston State to fill the void. Sure, those programs were likely due for a jump at some point as the sport continues to grow and facilitate more Division I schools at every level, but if the conference didn’t have a date with Notre Dame on the docket before, it certainly isn’t in a good position to get it now.
