Notre Dame football vs Mountain West

When it comes to the Mountain West, Notre Dame has surprisingly already played almost half the conference, with Air Force, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and San Diego State. In fact, the Fighting Irish have a losing record against the Wolf Pack (7-8-1). Programs like Air Force and Hawaii have handed the gold helmets 12 losses combined throughout history.

Of all the Group of Five conferences, the Mountain West has the most Notre Dame head space rented.

With that said, there are still a number of intriguing opponents in the Mountain West still to be played:

Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State, and Wyoming.

Of the bunch, Boise State, San Jose State, Fresno State, and Utah State seem the most likely to play their way into an expanded College Football Playoff 12-team field and get matched up with the Fighting Irish.
