Notre Dame vs Power Five conferences

Interestingly enough, some of the biggest brands of college football have never met Notre Dame on the gridiron, leaving millions of profits off the table.

Of course, this isn’t the case with the Midwest-based Big Ten, the Pac-12, which is the home to one of the school’s biggest rivals (USC), and the ACC, which was the home of Notre Dame football during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is the case with key pillar programs of the SEC and Big 12 however.

Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi State have all never represented the SEC on NBC against Notre Dame. As for the other primarily south-based Power Five, the Big 12, Kansas State, Texas Tech, and UCF have never had the chance to face the Fighting Irish.

When the College Football Playoff expands, Kansas State, UCF, and Auburn figure to be the Power Five schools of that bunch that stand the best chance to find themselves opposite Notre Dame in the bracket.
